8 pages 28 cm. Provenance: "General Intelligence Library, Department of Justice", and then the Library of Congress, with their rubber stamp over that of the General Intel Library on front wrapper. "Pamphlet by Joseph M. Brown, former governor of Georgia, describing "deeds of felonious crime committed by members of the American Federation of Labor" during two coal miners' strikes in Alabama. Brown urges United States legislators to take action against the organization: "Will the Congress of the United States barter the lives, liberty and property of the people of Alabama, for the votes controlled by the American Federation of Labor?" He points out that if they will not be able to "raise voice against brutal acts of felony" in their own states if they do not do so in Alabama now. Following his statement are several pages of violent incidents that occurred during during the strikes of 1908 and 1920."--Alabama department of Archives and History, digital archives.
